IntellIFrame for Rainscreen
The design principles of rainscreens require that ventilation be provided behind the exterior cladding of the system. The IntelliFrame™ Vented Hat Channel was specifically engineered to provide secure attachment of cladding systems while maintaining the critical ventilation and drainage cavity behind the wall assembly. Fabricated from 18-gauge steel, this framing component delivers strong structural support with minimal thermal bridging—especially when installed over continuous insulation.
To complement the Vented Hat Channel, IntelliFrame Zee Channels are available in a range of depths, offering additional framing options for various wall designs. These components are ideal for both new construction and retrofit wall applications, where they create the space needed to add continuous insulation and improve overall thermal performance.
The IntelliFrame framing layout is determined by the cladding type and project-specific demands. Both Vented Hat and Zee Channels can be installed horizontally or vertically, depending on design and load requirements. Fastening requirements must be engineered for each application.
