Did you know?
For its first decade, IMETCO relied on a network of independent rep agencies to distribute its products. In 2005, the company shifted its approach, hiring its first full-time factory representative to provide a more focused, hands-on level of support to architects, contractors, and building owners. By 2014, IMETCO had fully transitioned to a 100% employee-owner sales team, allowing for even greater dedication and personalized service. The employee-owner model further amplifies this commitment, as reps are personally invested in the success of each project. This not only enhances the level of technical support but also ensures IMETCO’s representatives offer a comprehensive, collaborative approach—focused on understanding the unique needs of each client while delivering solutions that prioritize long-term sustainability and performance.
From 1994 to 2010, IMETCO was headquartered in Tucker, GA, where a dedicated team in a modest building made significant strides in the industry.
During these formative years, the company navigated evolving customer demands and achieved remarkable milestones, paving the way for the growth and innovation that would shape its future. Despite the size of the operation, IMETCO’s team demonstrated a relentless commitment to delivering high-quality solutions, setting a strong foundation for the next chapter in its success.
Before shifting focus to wall panel systems, IMETCO established a strong reputation in the metal roofing industry, excelling in delivering
high-quality roofing solutions. As architects and builders sought more versatile and aesthetically pleasing options for building façades, IMETCO leveraged its extensive knowledge in metal systems to innovate and expand its offerings, ensuring that clients could achieve both performance and design goals in their projects.

In the early 2000s, IMETCO published a newsletter called Metal Messenger that was distributed by mail. This newsletter served as a valuable resource for architects, contractors, and industry professionals, providing updates on the latest products, best practices, and key trends in the metal building envelope industry. Through Metal Messenger, IMETCO offered insights and news that kept its partners informed and connected, long before the widespread use of digital platforms for communication and marketing. This was one of IMETCO’s early steps toward establishing itself as an industry thought leader.

This launch reinforced IMETCO’s commitment to offering comprehensive building envelope solutions tailored to evolving market trends.

2008 - CONSOL Energy HQ
IMETCO played a key role in the award-winning CONSOL Energy headquarters project in Canonsburg, PA, where the main building’s metal roof was designed to form the company’s logo when viewed from the air. IMETCO supplied custom aluminum panels, some up to 72 feet long, that were field-curved on-site to match the building’s unique radii dimensions. This complex project included curving panels six stories above ground, particularly over the CEO’s office. The architectural design, which blends the company’s historical roots with state-of-the-art materials, earned second place in the Roofs category of the metalmag Architectural Awards. The use of IMETCO’s metal panels not only reflects CONSOL Energy’s commitment to innovation but also solidifies the company’s rich legacy in coal mining.
